Everyone’s heard of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, right? Many of us have dreamed of visiting such a place where almost everything is edible and delicious. But what if the chocolate factory came to life? How much would it cost? Is it actually feasible to have a real-life Willy Wonka who runs a chocolate factory? Well, we were curious, so we ran the numbers. Here’s how it played out:
First, let’s talk about the chocolate river. We’ve estimated that it would take around 150,000 gallons of liquid chocolate for a cost over $32 million. Worth it, right? And how about the Oompa Loompas? Assuming Mr. Wonka pays his workers, we’ve estimated that the salaries would cost Wonka another $73 million per year. And who could forget the flying elevator? We combined the costs of a standard elevator and a low-end rocket for a cost of $109 million. For more details on these costs, check out the infographic below!
